I applied a month ago. I get it every year so they send me a notice when it's time to apply again. Benefits are on a first come first serve basis, so the next few weeks is the latest time to apply for the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP).

September is usually the best time to make an appointment to apply.

Apply as soon as possible; every year, although there is still time to apply. My state accepts applications through November. But don't wait.
